Our Blog

Our heart-of-the-community pub is one of a kind in West London.

Get to know us

Welcome to our community blog. Get ready to dive into the stories and history behind our carefully chosen seasonal ingredients and go behind the scenes of our events that help bring our community closer. Our seasonal ingredients aren’t just tasty additions to our dishes; they’re a taste of tradition, quality, and champion the harvest of each season, sourced from the bounty of the British Isles. Come along behind the scenes as we spill the beans on what it’s really like to be West London’s favourite local. From our much heralded events to hosting unforgettable milestones, our blog is your insider’s guide to community life at The Coach.

Foodies Festival

Wow, what a bank holiday we had! We pulled out all the stops, and not only did we smash out a sunny three-dayer in Isleworth’s best beer garden, we also held our first ever stall at Foodies Festival, Syon Park.
This has been a dream of of mine since joining the Coach and Horses – attending the Foodies Festival quickly became my annual tradition after moving to the area, and with my talented Head Chef Przemek on side my dream quickly became a possible reality. We were serving up fresh oysters with fun garnishes such as Nutbourne tomato and vodka, or Wyckham Farm asparagus and Sipsmith lemon gin, alongside our already famous Scotch eggs in a variety of flavours all weekend long.
It was truly an incredible experience to be a part of, and I am so proud of my team who pulled together to make this happen. But most of all I am grateful to you, our wonderful customers, for popping along, entering our giveaway for the festival tickets and showing us all the support in the world. It was such an honour to receive lovely feedback all round!
If you didn’t get to come and visit our Shuck ‘n’ Snack stand, fear not because I’m bringing back all the action to our local makers market on the late August bank holiday, Monday 26th.
We’ll have local, sustainably produced, handmade items from all sorts of sellers, craft workshops and garden games (giant jenga, anyone?) – all while shucking oysters and grilling on the barbecue, from 12pm until late.
I can’t wait to welcome you back and say a warm hello on arguably the best Bank Holiday of the year!

Earth Day 2024

To celebrate Earth Day this year, we’re joining the official Planet vs Plastics initiative!
All week, we’re hosting a raffle with lots of gorgeous goodies, from locally sourced, sustainably produced ingredients used in our every day recipes, to bottles of gin and reusable straws.
Pop in to get your tickets any time between now and Sunday 28th April. Just £1 per entry, you can purchase as many as you’d like, and 100% of proceeds will be going to charity.

Plymouth Gin & the Ocean Conservation Trust

We have partnered with our pals at Plymouth Gin for the third year running, to raise money for the Ocean Conservation Trust this April and May. All pubs at Young’s are promising a pledge of 50p per Plymouth sold – whether that’s a classic G&T or one of our new, refreshing Hugo Spritzes!
Their sustainability efforts don’t stop there though. You can read all about our conservation collaboration here, or simply stop by and have a chat with the team.

Recycling is exciting

  • Through our partnership with Suez (our waste management partner) all Young’s commercial waste is diverted from landfill – you can find further information on this amazing dedication in our ‘Wasteless Pub’ video here.
  • All of our cooking oil from Young’s pubs is collected regularly and transformed into biodiesel.
  • All our Nespresso coffee pods are collected and recycled with the capsules reused to make into everyday items whilst the coffee grounds are used for creating compost.

Reducing single use plastics

  • All Young’s pubs are on the Refill App, meaning that anyone can come in and have their water bottle refilled for free helping to reduce plastic consumption.
  • To eliminate the use of single use plastics, we’ve introduced our strong, reusable plastic cups which can be used for special events and in our pub gardens for when glass isn’t suitable.
  • We’ve replaced single use toiletries bottles in our pubs with rooms with reusable ones, cutting down on our plastic consumption with our chosen brand Bramley who are Vegan Society approved and animal cruelty free.
